The Top
10 Things That Turn Affiliates Off
#
6 – No Affiliate Page
All too often I find a particular product that I know I could send
lots of potential buyers to but when I don’t see a link to its
affiliate program, I assume they don’t have one [the fools!!] and go
somewhere else.
Affiliates are always on the lookout for new products to work with so
when they see one mentioned someplace, like in a discussion group, or a
review, they’re going to check out its site.
Make sure they know
you have an affiliate program!
Most sites have either an “Affiliates” link or an “Earn Money” link at
the top of the page (usually right near the header) that takes you to
their affiliate page. Others only have a link at the very bottom
of their site with their other links (“Terms,” ”Privacy,” etc.).
And then there are the smart ones like Marlon Sanders. He took
this to a new level on his Marketing Dashboard
site. Not only does he have an enticing “Get 80% Commission” link
at the top of the site, and an easy-to-find “Associates” link at the
bottom, but he also incorporated his affiliate program into his site’s
sales copy:
|
Just Two Sales And Your
Copy Is Free
The associate program pays out 70% commission, up to 80%. While
you don't make a commission on your own purchase, you make 70% (up to
80%) on all sales after your own purchase. Therefore, only two sales
means your copy is free. The associate
program signup is at www.getyourprofits.com if you aren't an
existing associate. |
And in his offer:
You Get "The Marketing
Dashboard" With 6 Software Program Free Trials,
Plus a 100% Money Back Guarantee And A 70% Profit Associate Program,
All Backed By The Credibility Of Marlon Sanders And The Amazing Formula
That Has Created And Rolled Out 20 Products Since 1997 When Others Have
Dried Up And Blown Away!

TIP:
Smart affiliates use search engines to find new products to work with
and they’ll search for –
[niche] + [product] + affiliate
For example,
marketing + software + affiliate
but because he only used the word “associate,” Marlon’s product
wouldn’t come up on the results.
If you want affiliates to find you, use the keywords affiliates would
use in your site’s copy: affiliate, associate, partner, referrer,
etc.

By
including his affiliate program in his offer, Marlon turns buyers into
affiliates and gets even more sales down the road.
Let Your Site’s Visitors Know You
Have an Affiliate Program
Puts links to it
on all your pages to make it easy to find.
But What If You Have a Number of Products?
If you have affiliates for one product, wouldn’t you want them to know
about all your other products? Do like the super-successful (Jim
Edwards, Marlon Sanders, etc.) do – create one site just for your
affiliates. That way all of the info is in one place. That
makes it easy for you to make changes and updates, and it’s easy for
your affiliates to find all your products, info and tools.
