# 4 – The Site is Targeted Toward a Specific Market


Let’s say I’m an affiliate and I wrote an article that will send baby boomers in droves to a website for a certain product I’m hoping they’ll buy, but the headline across the top of that site says the product is for stay-at-home moms.  Do you think my boomers will hang around long enough to check it out or do you think they’ll look at that headline and think, Well, there’s nothing here for me, and immediately go someplace else?

There have been lots of times where I’ve wanted to refer people to a specific product but the site’s headline stopped me.  

If you’re going to target a specific market segment on your landing page, do yourself (and your affiliates!) a favor by creating a different page tailored for each one.  For example, YourSite.com/index1 could be written specifically for college students, YourSite.com/index2 could be for stay-at-home moms, etc. 

Use the right copy for the right market so we’ll both get the sale.

different landing pages on your affiliate page.
